About the course
El Paraíso Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-71 course in Estepona’s Paraíso Valley, between La Concha and the Mediterranean. Gary Player designed the layout, which opened in 1973 and has been member-owned since 1996. Its broad parkland corridors move through mature vegetation, streams and lakes, with elevated tees and doglegs asking players to choose angles rather than simply attack. The par-five 15th is a clear example: fairway bunkers, a lake and a two-tier green complicate the route to the hole. Visitors can use a pro shop, changing facilities and clubhouse services, and the club also runs a junior academy. El Paraíso differs locally as an established, member-run club with 1970s design character, while still welcoming visitors under the club’s booking and handicap policies.
