About the course
La Cala Resort Campo Asia is an 18-hole, par-72 Cabell B. Robinson layout in the Mijas hills. At 5,925 metres, it is the oldest of the resort's three championship courses and was previously known as the South Course. Narrower playing corridors and pronounced changes in level make accuracy and planning more important than simple length. Its four par fives include risk-and-reward decisions, while compact landing areas place extra pressure on approach play. The fifth brings a lake close to the green, and the elevated 11th is a memorable par three with views across the Sierra de Mijas and Mediterranean coastline. Bermuda grass greens were introduced in 2019 before the same surface was adopted on the resort's other full-length courses.
